Courage to Run is an award-winning nonpartisan running series and leadership community committed to being healthy to lead effectively in civic life today. We believe that whether you are running a 5K or toward Election Day, it takes an elevated set of skills that strikingly resemble the "inner game" of an elite athlete: a winning mindset, resilience, vision, courage and care.
Our growing network of political players and civic believers whole-heartedly share a simple mission: (1) celebrate women running for office, (2) be healthy in mind and body, (3) run courageously and (4) champion democracy. We power up through offline races, mobilizations and network-weaving, and online tools that make you happier, healthier and higher performing to best serve society.

In Your Community
Women electeds, women candidates and supporters of women running for office participated in the #couragetorun from their communities in more than 30 states since our fall 2018 launch. In 2020, we're going for all 50! Candidates in California and Pennsylvania ran with volunteers and their campaign teams for their Courage to Run. Others in Ohio, Massachusetts and Maryland turned their's into a women's door-to-door canvass, while others in North Dakota and North Carolina transformed their morning workouts into one powered by purpose. A team of Wyoming women electeds and candidates - Democrats and Republicans - ran their 5K together as a sign of unity and to demonstrate what healthy leadership looks like. From Washington State to Rhode Island, Alaska to Texas, Missouri to Florida, Colorado to Kansas and more, women ran to support women running, and to be healthy to lead effectively.

Volunteering is a great way to be an active player in bringing the needed mindset, endurance and heartfelt vision for being healthy and leading effectively to civic players. We need volunteers to help with packet pick-up, water, musical talent and more. Volunteers are needed in DC and in community Courage to Runs, too. Choose your preferred location and activities.
